For a Golf R with a stage one tune (ECU and DSG are both tuned), what alterations should be made to the maintenance schedule? This has all been discussed here and there, but a nice easy reference for people seems like a good idea. Plus I didn't find anything specific to the Golf R / DSG (just a decent thread about a stage 2 GTI 6MT).
According to my owners manual the DSG service interval is 40,000 miles/60,000km. I'm just about to hit 50,000km on my Golf and was thinking of doing the DSG service early. Money well spent on preventive maintenance or is it unnecessary? I was quoted $1200CAD to do the 60,000 major service interval so if it's not needed I'd prefer to wait.

My stealer 'forgot to mention it' until my last service when I complained about the price and how often I needed them, the they said 'oh why don't you switch to 'long life service intervals' so

Nothing said about time, and I'm unsure if DSG fluid would be similar to say a brake fluid or a timing belt where time factors into its care and performance. I doubt it, as the DSG isn't affected by moisture condensation as brake fluid is

Re: GTi service schedule. If 60k was just an oil service then 70k should have been oil, air filter and maybe dust and pollen filter (cabin filter). But if 60k and 70k were oil I would say 80k should be oil, air filter, dust and pollen filter, brake fluid and maybe spark plugs. 90k will probably be oil and cambelt and water pump (but depending The service interval sheet says "Every 80,000 miles", not "Every 40,000 miles or 2 years, whichever occurs first" (cabin filter), or "Every 2 years regardless of mileage" (brake fluid) for example. Some do change early though, I haven't even hit 20k.
